Severed Link
Severed Link approached me late last year to create artwork for their EP titled "A New Day - A New Deathwish. Basically the idea behind the work is a twisted version of reality, how people are always changing and reinventing themselves, in good and bad ways. That's where the idea for the cogs/machinery comes in, life being one big mechanism.
People are always changing the way they look, inside and out, that's why the clown's head is there and the torso is skinless, another example for ever changing etc. Most of the time people are always "severing links" from their true selves, past or present in order to be something better.
Colours may vary from computer to computer and for web viewing the CD cover has been halved in some places to be able to fit it on screen. The actual album is an 8 fold design. Also included below is the Biography and Press kit DVD cover I also put together for them. The band hotos are courtesy of Kylie Keene in this work.
